Your AEA Ribbon Kit

The AEA R92 Kit includes the company's R92 large ribbon studio microphone, a Ribbon Pre, and a hard case that accommodates both.

A ribbon mic designed for close miking

AEA has once again expanded the sonic possibilities of ribbon mics with the R92. Intended for amplifier, instrument, and vocal miking applications, the R92's reduced proximity effect bass boost and excellent wind blast protection make it stellar for close miking of all of these applications, and much more. In addition, the smooth high-frequency response of the R88 transducer has been further extended in the R92, making the R92 a unique voice in the world of ribbon mics.

Two channels of clean gain for your ribbon mics

AEA's Ribbon Pre was designed from the ground up for low-output ribbon mics and dynamic microphones. And with its generous gain stage and ultra-low noise, engineers at Sweetwater have found the Ribbon Pre to be an outstanding microphone preamplifier for any mic that doesn't require phantom power. Many ribbon and dynamic microphones require more gain than high-output mics, and with a sub-standard mic preamp, you'd be turning up noise as well. AEA's Ribbon Pre captures the full, vibrant resolution of your low-output microphones without adding noise to your mix.
